CHILDREN, YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES

The Educational Program provides HIV and sexually transmitted disease educational sessions including prevention skill building and providing resources for access to medical care. We have previously worked with You Inc. family, individual, educational and residential services, several faith communities, YWCA, The Bridge of Central Massachusetts, etc.

The Back to School Readiness Project provides gender and age-specific backpacks to youth which are fully loaded with various supplies to make for a successful school year. Youth who access this part of the project come from families who are not financially able to provide their children with the essentials for school that other children have available. ( This program is currently on a Hiatus. Due to lack of funding, if you or a possible funding source will like to support this program please contact us)

The Enrichment Program component provides a range of scholarships to youth for various activities. Some of the types of scholarships we offer are summer camperships, memberships in boys and girls clubs, tutors, driver’s education, help with the expense for sports teams and/or leagues, art, music, dance classes, sailing lessons, etc and other opportunities that enrich the lives of disadvantaged youth. ( This program is currently on a Hiatus. Due to lack of funding, if you or a possible funding source will like to support this program please contact us)

“Youth Only” groups provide supervised field trips for youth involved in the program. Some examples of trips we have provided are Paw Sox baseball games, bowling parties, Claytime, Boston Duck-boat tours, trips to museums, college trips, etc.  ( This program is currently on a Hiatus. Due to lack of funding, if you or a possible funding source will like to support this program please contact us)

Family Enhancement provides families with various social and enrichment activities twice a year to increase the level of interaction between family systems, and to help build a strong foundation for trust and communication within the family.  ( This program is currently on a Hiatus. Due to lack of funding, if you or a possible funding source will like to support this program please contact us)

Tutoring further encourages educational endeavors through college-aged volunteers to assist with homework and provide specific tutoring, as necessary. APW has a long history of collaborations with volunteer organizations at the local colleges. Through the preexisting relationships, we will request volunteers for one afternoon a week.  ( This program is currently on a Hiatus. Due to lack of funding, if you or a possible funding source will like to support this program please contact us)
